The Invitation
I was invited to serve as the live graphic recorder at the exclusive Brilliant Minds summit in Sweden by Wassim “Sal” Slaiby—CEO of XO Records and manager to global icon The Weeknd. The private forum gathered world leaders, cultural innovators, and entertainers, including President Barack Obama, Naomi Campbell, and Forest Whitaker.
The Live Narrative
My objective was to synthesize Slaiby’s keynote address into a permanent visual artifact. The live piece documented his powerful personal narrative—mapping his journey from a Lebanese refugee to one of the most influential executives in the global music industry.
The Studio Finish
Following the summit, I transported the canvas back to my U.S. studio for bespoke post-production curation. To mirror the rock-star aesthetic of the subject, I integrated hand-applied silver and midnight-black metallic embellishments into the details of the artwork. Signed by the attending artists and Rima Slaiby, the finalized mixed-media piece now resides permanently in Slaiby’s private home theater collection.
